Glasgow Autonomous Space (GAS) is an autonomous social centre that provides space for groups working to fight capitalism and other forms of oppression

About the space

GAS was established in March 2016 when we took on the lease of a large warehouse building in Tradeston, Glasgow. It was a daunting prospect! A huge, cold and cavernous space.

Over the last few years, with the help of hundreds of different people, we have converted into the space it is today—an ever changing, ever growing, social centre full of established groups and endless opportunities for new and exciting things!

We have built a library, herbal clinic dispensary, kitchen, wood workshop, print workshop, meeting space, toilets, a garden with a greenhouse and a shed!

You can see what's on at GAS or you can book GAS. GAS was built for groups fighting oppression and prioritises groups that don't have access to other spaces.

GAS is part of the Social Centre Network.
